Kochi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod on Tuesday. There is a warning of strong winds with speeds of 45-55 kmph, gusting up to 65 kmph, expected in many areas of the western and west central parts of the southwest Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised to avoid going into these sea regions. Due to the cyclonic activity, ports in Kerala have been instructed to raise local cautionary warnings for Kasaragod, Azhikkal, Kannur, and other locations. The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued various alerts, such as ocean current watch, high wave watch, and swell surge watch for specific areas in Kerala. Additionally, the southwest monsoon is active in the region.
